Kilbirnie Travel is a retail business in Wellington selling travel related products and services to customers, on behalf of airlines, car rentals, cruise lines, hotels, railways, sightseeing tours, travel insurance and package holidays that combine several products. In addition to dealing with leisure tourists, we have a separate department devoted to making travel arrangements for business travellers.

We are agents for Western Union to transfer money instantly to 150 countries. We also represent Travelex, sell their Cash Passports.

We sell Travel Insurance.

Kilbirnie Travel is an independent travel agency and is trading arm of a New Zealand limited liability company. 

In a market like New Zealand where 4 million population is served by about 550 travel agencies, majority of them are part of a foreign company with multiple branches at all nook and corner, and other big travel houses with franchised operations, we were under no illusion that running an independent travel agency would be easy. But we were proved wrong. Our clientele grew slowly but steadly. We are happy to see that our customers are becoming clients and some of them even have turned into our advocate.

We are determined to provide impartial travel advice to our customers, display all available brochures from suppliers regardless of the fact how much commission they pay.

We are a member of First Travel Group to enable us to offer competitive airfare to our customers.

We are TAANZ bonded, meaning in the case of a failure, the customers are guaranteed either an equivalent holiday to that which they have lost or if they prefer, a refund. We are IATA accredited travel agent.

We apply dynamic packaging tools to provide fully bonded (full financial protection) travel at prices equal to or lower than a member of the public can book online. As such, the clients' money is protected in addition to professional travel agency advice.

We are creating a network of mobile home based travel agents in New Zealand who are also covered under TAANZ bonding, meaning buying travel through them is as safe as buying directly from our retail premises.
